Family Fishing at Northerly Island – From 8:00AM – 10:30AM. Learn how to fish Chicago’s Lake Front Harbor at Northerly Island Park during Family Fishing! Perfect for Families with children ages 8 years old and up, this 2.5 hour class includes in-class instruction and on-the-water fishing. Professional Instruction is provided by Chicago’s Fish ‘N’ Kids Program Fishing Instructors. Fishing instruction, equipment and bait are provided. Fishing License is required for people ages 16 years of age and older. Participants must be 8 years old and up to participate in Family Fishing at Northerly Island.
Happy Father’s Day Paint and Sip – From 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Looking for the perfect Father’s Day gift??? Join us for our 1st Annual Father’s Day Paint and Sip. Honor the special men in your life by paintihng them a pictue or bringing them to paint! There will be good music, food and reftrshments until exhausted. Yes, we are pulling out the grill! So Fresh Saturdays at Moran – From 2:00pm – 6:00pm. So Fresh Saturdays series supports youth & families whereby inter-generational audiences learn from each other. When art meets activism, this is a platform that serves as a positive median to bridge the gap. This is a community driven edutainment series that will showcase local artistic expressions that focus on youth, community issues, hip hop, civic engagement, and activism. The goal is to provide a safe space for residents in Englewood & to utilize art as a form to spark social responsibility and inter-generational dialogue.
Chicago Taco and Tequila Fest – From 11:00am – 9:00pm. The festival will feature Chicago’s best tacos and curate a summer cocktail vibe in its can’t-beat location at the north end of scenic Lincoln Park.
A Flor de Piel’s Nature Songs at Archer – From 3:00pm – 4:00pm. A Flor de Piel is a Chicago-based Latin Fusion band founded in 2007 by singer songwriter, author, entrepreneur, teacher and musician Marisol Ceron and Grammy® and Latin Grammy® nominee multi-instrumentalist Renato Ceron. This multi-generation group will have you singing along and dancing with plenty of audience-participation opportunities. This show is for all ages.
Building Community through Sound at Marquette – From 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Drummer, bandleader and composer Tommy Carroll presents an evening of original jazz and soul music that will delight everyone from music enthusiasts seeking something new to groups of all ages looking for a fun night out. Tommy and his band will perform a danceable set of tunes and audience members will have the chance to join in. Bring your instruments for a jam at the end.
Urban Astronomy in the Parks at Harrison – From 7:30 – 9:30pm. The Chicago Astronomer provides guided instruction and education for park visitors in all things astronomical and space. Using telescopes and other equipment, sky lovers experience and build a relationship with the wonder of the cosmos.
Movies in the Parks at DuSable Museum – Show Time is from 8:30pm – 10:27pm. FREEDOM SONG – NR – Danny Glover stars in a civil-rights tale focusing on a teen who defies his father when he joins desegregation efforts.

Africa in the Caribbean at O’Hallaren – From 7:00pm – 8:00pm. AfriCaribe will take you on a musical and dance journey to the Caribbean exploring the African Influences in that area. This presentation full of colors, sounds, movement and history is appropriate for all age groups. Audience will be ask to participate in a short movement workshop as part of the presentation.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at Hamilton – From 6:00pm – 7:00pm. NOTE – PLEASE CHECK THE CHICAGO PARK DISTRICT WEBSITE FOR LOCATIONS, AS THERE ARE MANY. Join hundreds of kids and families at 76 Chicago Park District swimming pools around Chicago and thousands around the globe for The World’s Largest Swim Lesson on June 20, 2019 at 6pm. We are looking to break the Guinness World Record to spread the word that Swimming Lessons do Save Lives. We broke the record last year. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to break the record again this year. This event is open to all ages and for all swim levels (Non Swimmers, Beginners and Swimmers) Children under 6 need to be accompanied by an adult in the water. Participants can register online through June 20th. Onsite registration will be available at 5pm, only if available spots remain. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the event to complete the necessary participant release waiver. The lesson will promptly begin at 6pm and will be 60 minutes in length.
