Friday July 5th
Windy City Ribfest in Uptown – From Thursday July 4th – Saturday July 6th. It’s a saucy summer happening! From tasty slabs (and sides) to a smokin’ music lineup, this Fourth of July party in the eclectic Uptown neighborhood brings its A-game on when it returns for its 11th anniversary year!
27th African/Caribbean Annual International Festival of Life – From Thursday July 4th – Sunday July 7th. This year’s celebration is dedicated to “TheReggae50”, fifty years of reggae since established in 1968. IFOL showcases a very diverse culture and music from many nations; primarily from the Caribbean, Africa, Latin America and the United States. People now call it the “Carnival of Nations”, as it aims at bringing communities together through music and culture.
Chicago Black Pride 2019 – From Friday July 5th – Monday July 8th. Wassup N ATL Chicago Invasion In conjunction with Clubhouse Productions, Wild Out Boys, Guaranteed Entertainment & Windy City Black Pride.
Churchy For No Reason Comedy Tour – From 7:00pm – 10:00pm. The Churchy For No Reason Comedy Tour is coming to a city near you. It features some of the most Hilarious “church kids” turned internet comedic sensations you will ever find. This tour features Anna Douglas and the always sanctified Evangelist Red Jacket, Tai Habersham and the tongue talking Queen, Mother Glady’s, North Carolina’s own Tim Shropshire, Kevin Will Johnson Jr. will have you “Bringing Retha Back!” and this is hosted by the singing comedian himself Jorel Quinn.
Movies in the Parks at Kelly – From 8:30pm – 10:21pm. RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET – PG – Six years after the events of “Wreck-It Ralph,” Ralph and Vanellope, now friends, discover a wi-fi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure.
Saturday July 6th
The Chicago Michelada Festival – From Saturday July 6th – Sunday July 7th. As a reminder, you MUST be 21 + and present a valid ID if you plan on consuming alcohol at the festival. General admission for 21 + is $5, 20 and under guests are FREE. A portion of every admission fee and beer sale will be going toward our fundraising goal of $50K in support of FIVE Chicago Non-Profit Organizations. This is a family-friendly event so invite everyone!
Chicago White Sox vs Chicago Cubs – Game Time is 6:15pm.
Chosen Few Picnic & Festival 2019 – From 8:00am – 9:00pm. In 1990, the Chosen Few DJs and their longtime friend and Chosen Few member, Kim Parham, had the idea of inviting old friends from the early house music days to a “reunion picnic” in the park behind Chicago’s Museum of Science & Industry. Beginning as a small gathering of family and friends and later dubbed the “old school picnic,” the reunion became an annual event, “The Chosen Few Old School Reunion Picnic”.
Brookfield Zoo’s Summer Nights Concerts – From 5:00pm – 9:00pm. On the Main Stage Saturday night, Illinois-based rock band 7thHeaven will put on an energized performance.
Summer Music Festival Featuring Kindred The Family Soul – From 5:00pm – 9:00pm. The free community event starts at 5pm and will end with a spectacular firework show at dusk. This special event will also include food vendors, activities for children, areas for relaxing and lounging to enjoy the music festival. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
AON Summer Fireworks – From 10:15pm – 10:25pm. Navy Pier is Chicago’s bi-weekly destination for spectacular, free fireworks displays perfectly synchronized to music on Lake Michigan. Navy Pier’s Aon Summer Fireworks occur on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Reggae Yacht Party – From 11:55pm – 4:30am. Reggae on The Lake… Don’t Miss Our REGGAE Yacht Party on Saturday July 6th!
Movies in the Parks at O’Hallaren – From 8:30pm – 10:49pm. MARY POPPINS – G – In turn of the century London, a magical nanny employs (Julie Andrews) employs music and adventure to help two neglected children become closer to their father.

Tuesday July 9th
Movies in the Parks at Kells – From 8:30pm – 10:27pm. SPIDER MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE – PG – Teen Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) becomes the Spider-Man of his reality, crossing his path with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.
Wednesday July 10th
Taste of Chicago 2019 – From Wednesday July 10th – Sunday July 14th. The annual summer smorgasbord that is the Taste of Chicago takes over Grant Park from July 10 to 14. This year’s event will feature 82 restaurants, including 24 pop-ups and 17 food trucks.
